Bivio Networks Unveils Cyber Security Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution
Network solution equips government agencies to move beyond compliance towards pro-active network risk management and cyber attack mitigation
Pleasanton, Calif., July 27, 2010 - Bivio Networks, the leading provider of networking systems for securing, monitoring and controlling critical network infrastructure, today announced the general availability of its Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution, a high performance multi-function solution that gives network administrators unprecedented cyber security capabilities by enabling them to detect and counteract known and unknown threats in real-time.
The Bivio Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution uniquely aggregates multiple different network monitoring services into a single solution providing the highest coverage of threat monitoring and protection in the market. Designed to satisfy the U.S. federal government’s demanding cyber-security requirements, the solution tightly integrates the most up-to-date cyber security technologies -- ranging from pattern matching and flow generation to botnet detection - to offer unprecedented network awareness and in-depth forensics capabilities. By leveraging Bivio’s leading deep packet inspection hardware technology, the solution provides these benefits at throughput speeds of 10Gbps and beyond.
“As recent attacks have shown, unknown and increasingly agile cyber threats are posing serious risks to government networks. Real-time situational awareness through continuous monitoring has emerged as the best strategy for addressing these difficult threats,” said Dr. Elan Amir, president and CEO, Bivio Networks. “The Bivio Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution provides a robust risk management framework capable of proactively monitoring, detecting and, ultimately, stopping these threats before they inflict harm.”
Bivio’s Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution addresses the advanced security requirements mandated by recent cyber security reform legislation. The pending legislation calls for a near complete overhaul of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) to retire compliance-based threat prevention policies in favor of performance-based models. Once enacted, the law will require Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and government network managers to establish and oversee real-time continuous monitoring operations over federal IT infrastructure.
“Bivio’s multi-service design is core to our Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution,” said Kevin Curran, vice president, federal, Bivio Networks. “It allows federal agencies to deploy a heterogeneous monitoring and protection shield that goes well beyond the usual single-function solutions that offer a fraction of the threat coverage.”
The Continuous Threat Monitoring Solution is currently available and has already been successfully deployed to protect critical infrastructure networks at various federal agency customers.
